Automated Installment Systems, Inc. (AIS) Management Team Profiles

  • Thos. Michael Wood, Chairman

    • Mike Wood has been working with the insurance industry for more than 40 years. He began his career as an underwriter for AETNA, went on to open his own insurance agency and later rejoined the company-side of the business when he became vice-president of a St. Louis life & health insurer. In 1968, Wood formed a holding company and acquired the life and health company along with a managing general agency, retail insurance agency and computer service company. In 1970, he formed an insurance premium finance company to finance business generated by the holding company's retail agency. Five years later, Wood sold the holding company, but retained ownership of the premium finance entity – expanding the company's finance base by servicing retail insurance agents in Missouri and Illinois. In 1982, Wood co-founded AIS to concentrate his efforts on creating and managing agency-owned premium finance companies.

    • Mike Wood is a former mayor of Manchester, Missouri, and a former member of the St. Louis County Municipal League. He was a member of the first board of directors of the St. Louis County YMCA and has served as a member of the board of a local bank for over 10 years.

  • Diane M. Wood, President

    • Co-founder of AIS, Diane began her career in life & health insurance and has more than 30 years of premium finance experience. After doing direct premium financing for agents for almost 10 years, she came up with the idea of creating a company that would help agents form their own agency-owned premium finance companies and handle all the day-to-day administration. In 1982, along with Mike Wood, she launched AIS to make her "Own Your Own"® premium finance concept a reality. Diane was instrumental in overseeing the design and development of Epitome® - the first technology designed specifically for "Own Your Own"® premium financing.

    • The mother of two daughters, Diane Wood is active in local politics and the Children's Hospital of St. Louis. She also participated in Congress' Small Business Summit.
